Claire Marante

Claire discovered her love for music from a very young age, and always loved to sing. At home she was influenced by different genres of music, ranging from the pop music of Prince, Italian artists Lucio Battisti and Franco Battiato, 70s rock and Flamenco. At the age of 7 she started her education in classical guitar and music theory. Soon after, she sought to train her voice with various renowned teachers, including soprano Gillian Zammit in Malta, vocal coach Lorna Brooks in Scotland, Welsh singer Julie Thomas, and Soprano Francesca Aquilina.

Over the years, she has collaborated with various musicians in Malta, including guitarist and composer Franco Tartaglia.

Her need to express her own artistic voice pushed her to focus on song writing. Her public debut as a songwriter was in 2017, with the Alternative folk song Euterpe in collaboration with Tact [1].

She has recently been working on new solo material and her latest single Stain[2] was released on the 23rd of June 2021.

Her influences encompass an eclectic mix of genres and musicians, including prominent singer-songwriters Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell, PJ Harvey and Jewel.
