Christian Fenech Il-Ganga is one of a new crop of improvised folk singers. He was born on the 4th of July 1986 and hails from Naxxar.

He grew accustomed to għana through the One TV programmes and the Argotti Festival and began creating rhyme at the age of ten. Despite all the modern foreign musical genres he was committed to tradition, egged on by another young fellow Naxxar folk singer, Etienne Pawney. His first singing bout was at the private residence of Pawney's aunt in Bormla, where he paired with her brother Jimmy Pawney ta' Bormla.
