Charlene Mercieca Magro

Charlene Mercieca Magro born on 3 October, 1984. She raise up at Paola, Malta. She is a Singer. She is graduate in Arabic language & Geography.

She started singing at the age of 6 with the local parish church choir. She was also a member of the Primary School Choir, and a member of the secondary school choir. In the secondary school she also took part in various musicals set up by the school.

At the age of 13 Charlene joined the Tensing Choir, which was a choir made up of teenagers only. When she was around 15 years old, Charlene stopped any music activities and focused only on school. However in the year 2014, when she was 29 Charlene decided, that should start singing again and decided to go to a vocal coach Pamela Bezzina from Vocal Booth Studios.

In November 2014 Charlene taken part in her first Starlight Singers Festival when she placed 3rd. Place, she countinued taken part in more festivals like Ilħna Tal-Futur in January 2015, when she placed 3.rd Place with one song & 4 th. place with another song Eurostars Festival in April 2015 and Euroritm Festival in Romania in July 2015 and place in 3 rd.Place.

In September 2015 Charlene taken part of the choir in the 1565 Musical, and during the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2015 was a backing vocalist of the song Żmien Sabiħ interpreted by Antonella Rapa.

In 2015 participated in Festival Euroritm in Romania and classified in third place.

In 2016 classified in fourth place in Silver Yantra Festival in Bulgaria and in 2017 took part in the Evrofest in the Macedonia and won the Grand Prix - the most prestigious award of the festival.

Charlene also took part in the latest edition of the concert Strummin at Sir Temi Zammit Hall at the University of Malta with the song 'Luce'.

This is the first time that Charlene is taken part in the tinkompetti L-Għanja tal-Poplu – Festival tal-Kanzunetta Maltija, where she sing the song ‘Nistenniek’ lyrics and music by Corazon Mizzi.
