Kompla javvanza fl-istudji mużikali tiegħu mas-Soċjeta Filarmonika King's Own tal-Belt Valletta taħt id-direżżjoni ta' Mro. Aurelio Doncich u mal-Banda La Vallette tal-Belt ukoll għand Mro. Cardenio Botti.
Fl-1928 huwa ġie miktub fl-Orkestra tat-Teatru Rjal.
Fl-1930 is-Surmast Briffa beda jistudja l-armonija għand Mro. G.Abdilla.
Fl-1951 laħaq Surmast tal-Għaqda Mużikali San Gabriel ta' Ħal Balzan Ii kienet għadha fl-ewwel snin tagħha.
Sentejn wara Mro. Briffa ħa f'idejh iI-Banda taghna u dan imexxiha ħdax-il sena sħaħ.
