Boris Cezek

Boris Cezek was born on the 21 Dicember, 1973 in Belgrade, Serbia. He is a Musician /Song Writer / Producer/ Mixing engineer.

He immigrated to Malta when he was twenty due to a difficult economic situation in Belgrade at the time. He is a well-known name among the Maltese music industry, Boris is a musician, music producer and a song writer.

His mastery of the guitar, bass, drums and piano have enabled him to play in such outfits as the Refugees, The Flying Alligators and Quicksand. Currently he plays with Rug, Ivan Filletti and his own band the New Harmonics, who were nominated for the 2006 Best Newcomer Award, and the 2007 Best Band Award at the Bay Music Awards. He has written songs for Maltese artists that have been successful on the local music scene.

Boris together with Kris Spiteri (his long term song writing partner) has written music and lyrics for a musical called PORN -- The musical, a musical comedy that had quite a success locally and abroad. The musical was performed at last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it was nominated for the Best New Musical award. It was also staged in London on April 2013 and it's currently in negotiations to move to a West End theatre.

He is also a founding member of the Doyaya Studios, one of the top studios in Malta. His recording studio has made significant contributions to Maltese music and he has recorded and produced a wide variety of top Maltese bands and singers.

Boris Cezek together with Dean Muscat is the composer of the winning song 'Tomorrow' at The Malta Eurosong 2013 and rapresented Malta in the Eurovison Song Festival 2013 and placed in the sixth place.
