Bernadette Riolo

Bernadette Riolo was born in Pietà on the 6 August 1986. She is an Actress.

She lives in Mosta and has been working as a Kindergarten Assistant in a state school for the past ten years.

Bernadette has been taking part in different musical theatre performances since she was in Primary and Secondary School at St. Monica School Mosta and Birkirkara. She has had various main parts in many different musicals such as The King and I, Pinocchio, A Christmas Carol and The Fiddler on the Roof.

Between 1998 and 2003 she studied drama at The Playhouse Performing Arts Centre under the direction of Mr. Joe Quattromani. She has had many experienced Drama teachers such as Narcy Calamatta, Salvu Mallia, Rueben Vella Bray and John Suda.

Since then, she has the opportunity to work in Maltese Pantomimes at the Catholic Institute in Floriana, Greek Commedia del Arte at St. Agatha’s Auditorium in Rabat and has had various leading and secondary roles in musicals, street theatre, community theatre, monologues, mimes and poem recitals. Bernadette has also carried out drama examinations with The Victoria College of London and possesses certifications in both Grade VI (2000) and Grade VIII (2003) in Group Drama.

In 2003 – 2004 she has also participated in L-Isfida TV Programme on Net TV in acting, singing and dance performances whilst being trained by the Yada dance company and by the Masquerade theatre company

In 2004 she has also had the pleasure to present and perform in the Junior College Soiree in Sir TemiZammit Hall, under the direction of Mr.Simon Bartolo.

In 2005 she also presented and performed in the Mcast Community Services Soiree at St. Agatha’s Auditorium in Rabat.

Since 2009 till the present day, Bernadette has formed part of the Drama Group Dwal Ġodda in Ħal Għargħur where she takes part in a unique, street theatre performance every Good Friday and another yearly performance every November.

Bernadette has been taking part in the TV series Santa Monika on Net TV, since October 2016 where she plays the quite challenging part of Elaine; a drug addict in a female correctional facility.
