Anthony Montanaro (1931 - 2004) was a professional journalist who worked for the Allied Press for most of his career.

He was born in Cospicua on 23 March 1931 and studied at the [Lyceum]] and at the [[Royal University of [Malta]]. Montanaro joined the editorial staff of Il-Berqa in 1943, where he worked his way up the ranks from Foreign News Editor, and Night Editor, to Assistant Editor and eventually Editor. Between 1958 and 1966 he was the editor of The Sunday Times.

Anthony Montanaro was married to Frances nee' Lautier and together they had five children, Godwin, Alex, Gerald, Alan Montanaro and Josette.

He died on 10 March 2004 at the age of 73.
