Annual Concert and Opening of 150th Anniversary of Band Celebrations – Beland Band Club A.D.1861


A whole new year of celebrations is ahead…


On Saturday 27 November 2010 the Beland Band of Zejtun shall put up its Annual Concert, whilst officially opening the year-long celebrations on the 150th Anniversary of the Founding of the Beland Band. The concert will be held at the St.Thomas More College Hall in Zejtun, starting at 7:30pm.


The Band, under the direction of Mro Ray Sciberras, shall play a variety of musical selections, varying from classical to pop to contemporary music.


During this concert Mro Tancred Grech shall perform Solo on his Euphonium a virtuoso piece adapted on the famous "Carnival of Venice" and Mro Ivan Plumpton shall perform "Jeux Interdits" on classic guitar. Bellini’s Sinfonia “Norma”, the famous “Festive Overture” by Dmitri Shostakovich, “Estudiantina” by Emile Waldteufel, alongside with a Concert Piece by Mro Sciberras will also feature in this Concert.
