Huwa kien diplomatiku Malti li serva bħala Ambaxxatur għal Pariġi b’akkreditazzjoni konkorrenti fi Spanja, il-Portugall u l-Isvizzera kif ukoll Delegat Permanenti ta’ Malta għall-UNESCO (1987 -1990) u Washington, fl-istess ħin Kummissarju Għoli għall-Kanada u Ambaxxatur Maħtur għall-Messiku (1991-1997).

Dr. Borg Olivier de Puget kien ukoll membru tal-Parlament Malti mill-1966 sal-1981. Huwa serva bħala Chief Whip tal-Gvern (1966-1971) u bħala Chief Whip tal-Oppożizzjoni (1971-1974) u mill-1971 sal-1981, kien Shadow Minister tal-Commonwealth. u l-Affarijiet Barranin u Shadow Minister tat-Turiżmu. Kien membru tal-Partit Nazzjonalista (Malta).
