Ġorġ Agius

Ġorġ Agius (born 28 July 1926) from il-Birgu, the son of Pawlu and Marija Agius, was the second of nine siblings.

Ġorġ also known as "Ġorġ tal-Mużew" or "l-Għannej tal-Mulej" spent his life spreading joy to the sick and the elderly in hospitals in Malta as well as residencies for the elderly.

In 2016 Ġorġ Agius was awarded the Nazzareno Vassallo Prize under the patronage of President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca.

In 2018 the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector presented, for the first time, a Special Award for voluntary work undertaken by an individual within the community to Ġorġ Agius.
