Véronique Vella (née Zammit) is an Edinburgh-based composer and pianist who was born in Malta. Her varied compositional output includes orchestral, solo, chamber and electroacoustic pieces, which have been performed in the UK, France, Malta, Germany and the US. Since taking up composition in 2005, her works have featured in many festivals in the UK, including Sound, Sonicfusion, Musica Nova and Glasgow West End Festival. Interpreters of her work include The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, The Edinburgh Quartet, The Research Ensemble, flautists Aisling Agnew and Richard Craig, pianist Peter Evans, horn-player Neil Fellows and cellist Rohan de Saram.
