<p>new page and format</p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>&#039;&#039;&#039;Stars And Stripes Malta&#039;&#039;&#039; (SASM) is a not-for-profit organization encouraging and fostering political, economic, social and cultural ties between the United States of America and Malta.<br /> <br /> SASM was formed in December 2009 from the organisation [[USA-Malta Group]] which had been set up to coordinate efforts of those American born Maltese who have had to renounce their United States citizenship. This was because Malta, until the year 2000, did not recognize dual nationality. In 2000, the Citizenship Act was passed in Malta. It allowed general recognition of dual nationality. <br /> <br /> Stars and Stripes Malta has grown rapidly since its inception.
