	There are probably many of you who will, at the mere mention of the [[Characters]], revert to the time when they performed relentlessly around the island. Those long nights in Paceville’s smoke-filled venues; the band dishing out those familiar tunes; singer [[Ray Mercieca]] strumming and singing away to his heart’s content! Given the band’s decision to call it a day some seven years ago, it all starts sounding nostalgic, but in light of their recent reformation, it simply becomes a case of picking up where they left off! There are probably many of you who will, at the mere mention of the [[Characters]], revert to the time when they performed relentlessly around the island. Those long nights in Paceville’s smoke-filled venues; the band dishing out those familiar tunes; singer [[Ray Mercieca]] strumming and singing away to his heart’s content! Given the band’s decision to call it a day some seven years ago, it all starts sounding nostalgic, but in light of their recent reformation, it simply becomes a case of picking up where they left off!

The band’s return has primarily involved a string of live gigs, including a support slot with The Wailers and the recent official reunion concert at [[Buskett Roadhouse]]. With three albums and a compilation to their name, Characters have also got a recorded history to maintain and prolong, which is what they did with their [[So Alive]] single, a strong indicator of the band’s contemporary presence and unflinching musical passion. New single [[One In A Million]] is a powerhouse of a song. Rooted in contemporary Britrock but oozing that good old rock’n’roll swagger, it fits the down-sized line-up (now a four-piece) perfectly.
