Din il-mawra tal-Banda f’dawn iż-żewġt ibliet importanti ngħatat prominenza ġmielha fl-istampa lokali. Il-Banda '''Duke of Edinburgh''', flimkien ma’ għadd t’ ammiraturi, ħalliet Malta fil-21 ta’ Lulju u waslu Palermo l-għada. Fuq il-moll sabu tistenniehom il-Banda Muniċipali ta’ Palermo. Minn fuq il-gverta tal-vapur, il-banda Vittoriosana sellmitilha bl-Innu Nazzjonali Taljan. L-Isqallin irreċiprokaw bil-God Save.

	After disembarking, the two bands started playing festive marches on their way to Count Roger’s burial place, amongst applause from the crowd that had gathered. They were welcomed by Mons. Mazzola on their arrival at the Cathedral. From there, the band was invited to the ''Palazzo Municipale'' where it was welcomed by the Pro Sindaco. The following day, the ''Duke of Edinburgh'', under Band Director [[Gaetano Grech]], performed at ''Teatro Biondo''. During the interval, after an address from Prof. Enrico Scala, a banner with the crest of Palermo was presented to the society with the inscription in golden thread:

Wara l-iżbark, iż-żewġ baned immarċjaw idoqqu marċi brijjużi flimkien għal fejn jinstab midfun il-Konti Ruġġieru, fost iċ-ċapċip tal-folla li nġabret. Mal-wasla fil-katidral, intlaqgħu minn Mons. Mazzola. Mill-knisja, il-Banda Vittoriosana kienet mistiedna fil-'''Palazz Muniċipali''', fejn ingħatat merħba mill-Pro Sindaco. Waqt l-intervall, wara indirizz mill-Professur Enrico Scala ġiet ippreżentata lill-Banda bandalora bl-istemma ta’ Palermo b’iskrizzjoni b’ħajt tad-deheb:

			L-għada, il-Banda daqqet programm ieħor, din id-darba, fi Piazza Foro Umberto. Ma’ tmiem il-programm, il-kontinġent irħielha lejn Messina. Hemmhekk sabu tilqagħhom il-Banda tal-Muniċipju, li wasslithom sad-Duomo famuż ta’ dik il-belt biex jattendu għaċ-ċelebrazzjoni ta’ quddiesa. Fl-aħħar jum tal-kontinġent Vittoriosan fi Sqallija, il-Banda għamlet programm ta’ siegħa u nofs, sa ma wasal ħin l-imbark. Programm li ntemm b’applawsi kbar u l-għajjat ta’ “Viva l-Maltin” mill-folla kbira li nġabret madwarhom. Impressjonati bil-laqgħa sabiħa li kellhom fi Sqallija, il-banda u l-ammiraturi tagħha ħallew Messina lura lejn Malta sodisfatti li servew t’ ambaxxaturi denji ta’ pajjiżhom billi wrew b’mod innegabbli l-livell għoli li kienu laħqu l-baned Maltin fl-arti mużikali.
