Horace Micallef was born in 1962. His first experiences on the musical theatre scene came in 1981 when he directed the local production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ together with the Vittoriosa Rock Opera Group.

His task was twice as difficult since Horace was also playing the demanding role of Judas. The same can be said for his second assignment when in 1982, he directed Evita whilst appearing in the part of Che. In the following years, Horace researched and wrote the script for the original rock opera ISKRA which he also directed in 1987 and 19B8.

Horace also directed the original musical Living Legends with book by Michael Piscopo, music by Mark Vella and lyrics by Ray Tabone, which was staged at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in 1994.

Besides theatre, Horace has been active in other spheres of arts and entertainment. He has taken part in a number of amateur film and video productions which were successfully entered in local festivals. Horace was also the presenter and co-producer of a popular radio programme.
