Luke Chappell

Luke Chappell born March 22, 2003 is a Maltese singer and songwriter.

Luke first came into the spotlight in 2018 when he released the songs ‘Young Dumb Things’ and ‘Lost Faith in Humanity’ on his YouTube channel. Both songs became instant hits, and got over 2,000 views one day after their release and over 65,000 views by the end of 2020.

After such a promising start to his musical career, Luke set his eyes on Malta’s biggest music event of 2018 the X Factor Malta. He performed his original song ‘Losing Faith in Humanity’ at his audition for X Factor in August which helped him get people’s attention as a songwriter. Despite being the youngest contestant of the show, he made it all the way to the semi-finals, placing in fifth place.

He pursued his career as a musician later on that year with more original content in which he released through Spotify and YouTube, gaining more than 200,000 Streams in less than 3 months. He continued working on original content and released his debut album ‘Cosmic Heaven’ in summer of 2019 featuring 13 original tracks. In the process of working on the album, Luke collaborated with very talented people like members from Red Electrick Aleandro Spiteri Monsigneur and Peter Borg, whilst also having as mentor Matthew Muxu Mercieca who helps in co-writing of his songs. Having other countless people helping him to peruse his dream in the music industry, he released more original tracks which hit his followers in the heart with a roller-coaster of emotions.

Chappell released the single ‘Head in the Clouds’ in July 2019. It reached number one on 89.7 Bay's Malta's Top 10 charts. It also got nominated for the best song in the ‘Lovin Malta Awards’ as well as ‘Magic Malta Awards’ on the same year. It has over 279,500 Streams following up through the ‘Discover Weekly’ Playlist which serves as a beacon for listeners worldwide to tune in and listen. Luke has fans all over the world tuning in every month from over 86 Countries streaming and saving his songs on Spotify. Luke released his second single called ‘Human’ in October 2019. Shortly after that, he started getting nominated for more awards like the best solo artist, and best male artist of the year.

Luke is known to perform with the talented guitarist of Red Electrick, Peter Borg, who accompanies him with the guitar on live events. But at times he also has solo events in which he plays the guitar himself. Peter Borg is his Music Engineer/ Producer.
