Fr. Robert Galea (born 14 November 1982) is a Maltese singer and songwriter of Christian music. Originally from Tal-Ibraġ, Malta, he now lives in Melbourne, Australia.

Closer, his first CD album of Christian songs, was released in 2006. What a Day followed two years later.

He performed for Pope Benedict XVI in Sydney during the 2008 World Youth Day celebrations in front of 500,000 people. He also formed part of a group of contemporary pop singers who recorded the official song for the day entitled Receive the Power.

Robert has recorded with artists such as pop idol Guy Sebastian, Paulini, Tim Costello (Gloria Gainor), Gary Pinto and Amelia Farrugia, and has shared the stage with the likes of Matt Maher, Hillsong United, Darlene Zschech and others.

The song God Does Not Make Rubbish, which he co-wrote with Bishop Joe Grech and released as an iTunes download (at AUS$1.69) in 2010, climbed to the number 2 position in Australia's Inspirational Top 10 on iTunes in January 2011.

In January 2011 he released his fourth album, Reach Out. A music video for the title track was released within the year and the song was featured on Toni Sant's 289th Mużika Mod Ieħor podcast on Saturday 3 March 2012.


Priesthood

He was ordained priest by Archbishop Paul Cremona on Friday 5 November 2010 at St Julian’s Parish Church. He started he studies for the priesthood at the Archbishop’s Seminary in Rabat in 2003 but finished them at the Seminary in Melbourne. After his ordination, Fr Rob, as he is known, returned to Melbourne, Australia to serve as a priest in the diocese of Sandhurst, Victoria.
